Friend zone according to the Cambridge dictionary is the state of being friends with someone but according to the Pepper Dem Gang, friend zone is the situation where you think you like somebody and they think they like you back but forces within and outside the house tears you apart.
Ebuka said she didn’t need to feel that way because she was standing firmly on the friend zone table. They played clips of Diane with Sir Dee, Nelson and Tuoyo. They also showed where Diane threw Sir Dee into the friend zone on the live show when Ebuka asked her what was up with them.
Ebuka asked the housemates if he was the only one that saw what played out between Diane and her men. Kimoprah said she sensed a connection between Sir Dee and Diane in the house and believed that Diane friendzoned him because of his relationship outside. Frodd said he saw a different relationship because Sir Dee kept talking about Diane was like a younger sister to him.
Ebuka asked Frodd how he felt about Diane’s relationship with Tuoyo and Nelson. Frodd said with Tuoyo, he thought there was a future while with Nelson, he felt they both had a mutual likeness for themselves. Tuoyo said he felt Diane had something with the other guys and not just him. He said in his head, something a was almost happening with him but she didn’t allow him cuddle her even though she cuddled Nelson. Nelson and Diane cut in and said they never cuddled. Ebuka asked how many times Nelson and Diane cuddled and he said it was uncountable. He said in his head, he felt there was a future for him and Diane. Sir Dee said in Diane’s defence that she did well by managing Tuoyo’s snoring.
Omashola said in Diane’s defence, she cried a lot in the house. He said Diane cried weekly because someone close to her left. She cried when Tuoyo, Nelson, Sir Dee, Jeff and Ike cried.
Ebuka asked Nelson to explain himself and the situation with Diane. He said he just got out of a strenuous relationship and he didn’t want to rush into something new as he needed time to heal. He said he was very close with Diane. He said himself and Esther were just friends. When asked who he likes more between Esther and Diane, he said he likes Diane more and he was really close to Esther because they could talk about deep things together. He said he knew Diane likes Tuoyo and he could also tell that Diane liked him more and he was hoping he could reciprocate the emotions but the state he was in at that time preventing it from happening.
Ebuka asked Diane to clear the air on all the men she liked and those that liked her. Diane said she was close to Sir Dee because he lived in Kaduna and they clicked. She said she liked Nelson initially but backed up because she felt he liked Esther more. She said for Tuoyo, she knew that he liked her but she didn’t like him as much. She said the reason she didn’t really cut any one off was because she’s a friendly person and gets along with people.
Ebuka asked why Esther cried so much when Nelson was evicted and she said that it was because they were close and he was the closest person she had in the house at that time. Ebuka asked Esther if she felt Esther was an intruder in her friendship with Nelson and she said no. Ebuka asked Esther if she knew Nelson liked Tuoyo. Esther said that she asked Nelson repeatedly if he liked anybody and he said no. Esther said she was surprised Nelson said they were just friends because Nelson asked her to be his girlfriend on two different occasions and she said no. She said one of the occasions was when they were given the rice punishment.
Esther said they were really cool and be didn’t have to say anything about their friendship when he got out of the house. Ebuka asked Sir Dee if he felt there was something more to the friendship between Esther and Nelson and he said yes. He said Esther was his go to person whenever he wanted to get things especially more noodles whenever Nelson cooked.
In his defence, Nelson said he never asked Esther for a relationship and when he got out, he felt she was playing a game. Nelson said he watched clips of her getting chummy with Frodd so that made him lose his trust in her because she always told him that she didn’t like Frodd while he was in the house. He said he made the mistake of saying that she was coming on to him in his interviews because that wasn’t true. Esther said she felt really bad with all that Nelson said about her after he left the show but didn’t confront him because she was she was hurt and thought they were very good friends.
Nelson said he didn’t try to reach out to Esther because he felt bad seeing Esther share the same bad they shared with Frodd after she said some not so nice things about Frodd to her. Ebuka asked if they could get back to being friends. Nelson said he didn’t think they could be friends because of how she reacted during the reunion. On the other hand, Esther said she was over all that happened during the show. She got up, went to his seat and hugged him
