Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey’s twitter account was hacked within the late hours of Friday, 30th August.
BBC stories that the attackers, referred to as “Chuckling Squad”, posted a sequence of racist, anti-Semitic statements and tweeted the n-word and nazi propaganda, in addition to an alleged bomb menace directed at Twitter’s headquarters, over the course of about 15 minutes.
Inside an hour, Twitter eliminated the offending tweets and suspended accounts related to the hackers.
Twitter mentioned its personal techniques weren’t compromised, as an alternative blaming an unnamed cell operator.
“The phone number associated with the account was compromised due to a security oversight by the mobile provider,” Twitter mentioned in an announcement.
“This allowed an unauthorised person to compose and send tweets via text message from the phone number. That issue is now resolved.”
